This fireball was a controlled detonation of "THF" Tetrahydrafuran. IT was approximately 25 years old, peroxided, and unstable as nitroglycerin. The THF was removed two gallons at a time, neutralized and safely detonated as shown in this photo. The two neutralized gallons made a 60 foot fireball. This was one of nine controlled detonations fdone for the same customer on the same day. Can your business or agency survive this type of explosion? Obviously not!
